Gillian Duffy

Experience: Since qualifying as a Learning Disability Nurse in 1996 and graduating from Glasgow Caledonian University with an Honours Degree in Nursing Studies in 1997 I have worked in a number of roles –

- Support Worker with Cornerstone Community Care
- Team Leader and Service Manager with Turning Point Scotland
- Divisional Service Manager in the private sector

During my career I have had the opportunity to manage and develop a number of services including housing support services, day opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and early onset dementia and respite services. 

In 2009 I attained my Registered Manager’s Award in Health and Social Care.

I joined The Mungo Foundation in March 2012 as Change Support Manager before moving to an Area manager position in September 2012.  Following Head Office re-structure I was appointed to the position of Business Support Manager in late 2014. 

Role: As Business Support Manager I lead on tendering processes for new business and the retention of existing business.  As part of the Operations Team I work closely with the Regional Managers and Senior Management Team to develop and modernise quality, financially viable, person centred services and supports that meet the Changing Lives strategy.  I have a keen interest in supporting people we support and staff teams to understand what can be achieved as a direct result of the Self Directed Support (Scotland) Act and in working in partnership with internal and external colleagues to re-design services with the aim of assisting those we support to meet their outcomes.
